Fearless 365

The youth group at our church had a fundraiser on Thursday. All the boys and I went to help. The money raised is going toward a trip the youth are taking next month to St. Louis. Russell and I are going too! We get to see Toby Mac in concert...YAY! They have a terrific Youth Pastor and I have seen such spiritual growth in them. God Bless "Fearless 365"!

Take 5

So, we were sitting at Jerrod's baseball game, and I realized I needed to update the contact picture on my phone for Otter Creek Middle School. I used to have a picture of Jerrod and Darec on it, but next year it will be Darec and Rion. I tried to get the two of them to pose for a picture, which was quite the process. The following pictures are the result of the "photo shoot"!! It was actually REALLY funny! Nothing makes me smile more than my boys!

Last Baseball Game

Jerrod's season officially came to an end last Wednesday. His team lost in the second round of the play-offs. It is actually kind of nice to be done with it, because he has been in daily practices for football, at the same time, for a while now. He had a good year and played well!

Wicked!!!

Un-stinking-believable!! Russell and the boys got us tickets to the Broadway musical, Wicked, for Mother's Day. The performance was last night. It was AMAZING! I was moved...inspired...there is so much I could say, but I won't bore you. Even the boys can't stop talking about it. I recommend for anyone who is able, go see it!

Cross Country

Rion started running practices with the Otter Creek Cross Country team this week. He is having a blast! He couldn't wait for practices to start, and the coach has already moved him up to practice with the older kids. He is a short little bugger...but he can keep up with the best of them.

Brenden is also in full swing with Cross Country at North.

Looks like a good year for both teams!

8th Grade Graduation

Last Friday was a tough day for Russell and I, because we no longer have any of our boys in Elementary School, and Jerrod is officially out of Middle School and onto High School! We were very proud to see him receive the Presidential Academic Award at the graduation ceremony!! He worked hard for it. Jerrod looked so grown-up in his suit and tie. Congratulations, Jerrod!

5th Grade Farewell

Rion's class had their farewell party on Friday, the last day of school. It was emotional for everyone! They had a Survivor themed party, and all the kids had a good time. It is so hard to believe how fast the time has gone. Rion had a great 6 years at Rio Grande...on to Otter Creek!

Rio Grande Awards

Last Thursday was Awards Day at Rio Grande. Rion got a number of awards, including being honored for being a member of Student Council and the Presidential Academic Award! He also got a $25 gift card to Books-A-Million for having the most Reading Counts points in his class. Go, Rion!

Reading Award

Darec was given a trophy for his reading accomplishments. He ended up having the most Reading Counts points, of all the 6th grade students, at Otter Creek! Good job, Darec!
