Ouch Again!

Jerrod has been having some trouble with his shoulder for a while now. He can pull it almost all the way out of the socket and has been having a lot of pain and soreness. He had an arthrogram (big needle injecting dye into the joint...yikes!) and an MRI on it a couple of weeks ago.

It turns out he tore the labrum, the tissue attached to the outer edge of the socket, which acts like a bumper and keeps the bone in place. We aren't sure exactly how it happened...a combo of football, wrestling and weight-lifting. Anyway, he will be having surgery on May 6th and we would really appreciate your prayers. It will probably take a good 4-6 months for him to be back to normal and he will have to sit out this football season. :( However, the doctor doing the surgery is great and we expect a full recovery!

Rion's Track Meet

I finally got to one of Rion's meets last night. Jerrod took pictures while I took video. He got a good picture of Rion long-jumping, just a little off-center...lol.

Battle Of The Books 2

This is the second year Darec participated in the Battle Of The Books competition for Otter Creek. Last year, he led his team to victory. This year they won again!

National Honor Society

Brenden was inducted into NHS on Sunday!

The Facts Of Life

Friday, a friend from church and I went to the Wabash Valley Ladies Unity Night. It is a gathering of women from all the different churches in the area. Each year a different speaker comes. This year it was Lisa Whelchel, who played Blair Warner on "The Facts Of Life". It was one of my favorite shows growing up! She is a great woman of God and she gave a wonderful message about friendship. We had a really nice time.

Track And Field

Brenden, Darec and Rion are all participating in Track and Field. Darec is doing the shot put, like last year.

Brenden is running...usually the mile, the 800 and sometimes the 4X800, it varies.

I haven't been to any of Rion's meets yet, because they are the same time as Darec's, only at a different place. I am taking turns watching each of them. I should have some pictures of Rion later this week. He is a co-captain for his team and runs the mile, the 800, the 4X400 and does the long-jump.

Full Bloom

All the trees in our yard are now in full bloom.

So is the Phlox I planted last year. It has really grown.

We bought some hanging planters and some other flowers.

Everything just looks so beautiful!

Spring Break

We decided to stay home this Spring Break. We did a lot of work in the yard. We took down most of the dog fence and the old dog house. We planted climbing roses, raspberries and blackberries along the back part of the fence, which we left up. Where the dog house used to be, we planted strawberries.

Saturday, we went to Indy to the Indiana State Museum. We spent a few hours there, went to the Circle Center to eat, and then went to "How To Train Your Dragon" in 3D at the IMAX. Great movie! Good Times!

The trees in our yard are blossoming. I LOVE Spring!

He Is Risen!

Happy Easter and Praise to the One Who made it possible!
