I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined to me, and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear, and will trust in the Lord. How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust! Psalm 40:1-4a

Double Rainbow
Yesterday, we saw a double rainbow at Brenden's Cross Country practice. You might have to look close to see the second one, but it was there. A nice reminder of God's promises!

St. Louis Youth Trip
This last weekend, our family joined the youth group from church, on a trip to St. Louis. We went to Six Flags, saw Toby Mac in concert, and visited the St. Louis Zoo! Everyone had a good time, and it helped all of us cultivate stronger relationships with the members of our church! The water park was a big hit, the concert was awesome, and we had a nice time at the zoo. All in all, the trip was a blessing for everyone.

Weirdos
The Fair
Starting last Sunday, through tomorrow night, Brenden is working with the North Wrestling Team, parking cars at the Vigo County Fair. Last night, we all visited the fair animals, and we will be going back tomorrow to spend some more time. Some of the animals cracked us up. The chicken was just too cool...and you could tell he knew it...ppfftt!!

Fast Track Mile
Brenden and Rion ran in the Fast Track Mile this morning. It has become a family tradition, since Brenden first started running it it the 7th grade. Rion ran it for the first time last year, and this year his whole Cross Country team ran it. They both did great! It was hard to tell exactly when Brenden crossed the line, but he said the clock looked about 5:04 when he passed. Wow!!

Cincinnati
We took a short summer vacation this week. It was "dead week" at the high school, so Brenden and Jerrod were able to take some time away from their sports practices. We went to Cincinnati! The first night we walked from our hotel, across the Purple People Bridge, to watch a Reds game. We got to see Dan Haren pitch for the Diamondbacks...he is doing really well this year. The stadium sits right on the Ohio River, and the view from our seats was terrific!

The next day we went on a two hour paddle wheel boat tour down the Ohio River. Our boat was named the River Queen. There were a bunch of Amish people on it with us. It was neat!

After that, we went to Newport on the Levee, a mall, etc... We ate at a place called Jax and got video game cards for Gameworks. We had fun playing all kinds of games.

That night we went to Transformers 2 at the AMC.

The next day we met up with our friends at King's Island!! We had a blast riding coasters and playing at the water park.

It was a quick trip, but a lot of fun!
