Happy Birthday!

I am 36 years old today. Not sure how I got here, but I don't feel that old. I guess that's a good thing!

Russell bought me some roses. They are beautiful and smell wonderful! Thanks, Sweetie!

I also got a plant from my "Secret Sister" at church.

MIC

Brenden wrestled in the MIC Championships on Saturday. We are in a really tough conference, with all the big Indy schools. The biggest schools have 4,500 students, twice what North has. Brenden got 8th in his weight class, 145. He looks much better than last year, and we are proud of all his hard work!

The Hammer Comes Home!

Last night was the big, North/South wrestling duel meet, for the traveling trophy called, "The Hammer". South has held it for the last four years. Not any more! South was ahead 33-30, and it all came down to the last match. Mark Elia, really nice Christian kid, pinned the south wrestler!! We won 36-33! Oh my, it was so exciting!

Everyone wore shirts honoring fallen soldier, Dale Griffin, who was a wrestler for South. His top finish was 2nd at State, and he went on to wrestle at the collegiate level. He was recently killed in the line of duty.

Jerrod is in the blue singlet.

Brenden is in the striped singlet.

Purdue MathCounts

Darec's MathCounts team went to Purdue, for a two-day math competition, on Friday. There were kids there from all over the state. We don't have any scores back yet. He said it was really hard though.

Russell, Jerrod, Rion and I went with him. We stayed last night in a nice hotel!

We spent this morning touring the campus while Darec was busy. It is a massive place. You can see how much space it takes up in the diorama below.

We had a nice weekend. They only hard part was, we had to leave Brenden home, because he had a wrestling tournament this morning. We were wishing he could have been there. It would have been a good opportunity to see what a large school is like, because he will be choosing somewhere to go to college before we know it!

B-Ball

Darec is still playing basketball at Boys and Girls Club. He has a few more weeks left. They won their last game! He is really improving. The weird thing is, the last time I posted pictures of him in a game, was against the same team as this time. Blue vs. Orange...Part 2.

Watch Out!!

Baller

Rion is at it again. Boys and Girls Club basketball started last week. The OC team stayed together, as did the other middle school teams. He played really well last night. We won, 28-11. Rion scored 8 points and played excellent defense!

Snow Days

The kids had last Thursday and Friday off of school because of snow. No school, meant no practices. We had a couple of nice, lazy days around here. I love that my boys still want to hang out with their mom...even the teenagers. I am blessed! They did go outside to sled a few times. Anyone who knows us, knows we LOVE watching the Olympics, and Vancouver is in 33 days. Rion has been having his own version of the Winter Olympic Games. I haven't been good about taking pictures, but think roller blades, with hockey sticks as poles, as he "slaloms" down the driveway, and "lugeing" on a skateboard. It's the cutest thing! I do have a picture of Jerrod shoveling the driveway.

Last night we went to Avatar. Great effects, not so sure about the story. North held a JV Wrestling Tournament this morning. Brenden and Jerrod both won matches!

New Year

We had a blast on New Year's Eve. We went to our Youth Pastor's house, ate great food, played games and "praised in" 2010!
